Celebration of GoodGovernance Week

GoodGovernance Week is an annual initiative observed in India topromote transparency, accountability, and efficiency in government functioning.It is celebrated to highlight the importance of good governance practices andencourage citizens' participation in the democratic process. During this week,various government departments and organizations conduct awareness campaigns,workshops, and events to educate the public about government schemes, theirrights, and how they can access services effectively. The week also emphasizesstrengthening the relationship between the government and citizens, promotingthe values of integrity, justice, and citizen-centric policies.

On Monday, 23 December 2024, onthe occasion of Good Governance Day, a speech and poetry recitation competitionwas held. On this occasion, Prof. Poonam Tandon Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, DDUGorakhpur University, Gorakhpur graced the event as the Chief Guest and Prof.Ashwini Kumar Mishra, Area Higher Education Officer, Gorakhpur chaired theevent.

The winning volunteers of thespeech and poetry recitation competition, organized during Good GovernanceWeek, were honored with awards. The awards were presented by the esteemed Mayorof Gorakhpur, Dr. Manglesh Srivastava onDecember 25, 2024.

National Youth Week:

National Youth Day is celebratedannually in India on January 12th, marking the birth anniversary of SwamiVivekananda. The day honors his contributions to the youth and his role ininspiring young people to strive for personal and national growth. Swami Vivekananda'steachings emphasize values such as self-reliance, discipline, and theimportance of education. The celebration aims to inspire the youth to worktowards building a better society and to encourage them to live with purposeand conviction.

14 January (Makar Sankranti): The day is known as "Khichdi Diwas," where people gather to enjoy this dish together, fostering a sense of community and togetherness. The simplicity of Khichdi represents the idea of giving thanks for the abundance of the harvest and is linked to the season of fresh crops.
